For so many of us everyday is Memorial Day. Our good friend Ed Broderick of Rockaway, NY, sent us this week's poem which is dedicated to SGT Ronald A Kubik whose grandmother resides in Rockaway Park, NY, in the parish of St. Camillus.
SGT Kubik gave his life while serving his country in Afghanistan on April 23, 2010.

Most folks don't hesitate to speak
Love of country is not unique
Not many would give their all
To prevent their homeland's fall
The brave that pay this price
Do not hesitate or think twice
They have a code they call duty
In which they know true beauty
It's a deep deep love felt by each
To soar to a level that's hard to reach
When the time arrives to meet the call
To a man they all stand tall
Love of country is not unique
Because of heroes we are free to speak
So speak freely and never forget
The price was paid by many a Vet
Yesterday two heroes fell
Tomorrow who can tell
God Dear God
Bless America
