Since time immemorial our human race has been faced with problems, many of them self inflicted.
Nowadays we hear much about the economy and unemployment and the value of money, then along comes a major storm and we realize there is a power in the universe far greater than mankind.
In such times the good people of the world come to the surface, they're out there helping others with no motive other than to help their fellow man.
It is very reassuring to know that there are still good people in our world who can rise above materialism and help others rather than trying to grab what they have.
Our poem this week comes from Ed Broderick of Rockaway, NY. Ed tells us that last June Fr James Dunne celebrated his Jubilee (50 yrs) as a priest.
The good father, he says, is a true Kerryman and a true man of God! Where would we all be without these Holy men of the Word?
Well Done
In the kingdoms of Heaven and Kerry
All the lads are proud and merry
One of our own who answered the call
Stands before God humble yet tall
A man of the cloth and of the word
Father to those who listened and heard
Loved by all whose pains he has eased
His gentle smile leaves you pleased
Fifty years tending and keeping the faith
What better reason to celebrate
So to Father James M. Dunne
JOB WELL DONE!
God Bless You Father
With Another FIFTY
