Last week I received a loving and sincere poem from Colette O'Sullivan. It stirred me with many emotional thoughts and childhood reminisces of my mother and it reminder me that no matter what occurs in the world or in our lives everyday should be Mother's Day.
As Mother's Day approaches one realizes we are all members of the human race.
Celebrations of mothers and motherhood occur throughout the world.
It is celebrated on various days in many different places, yet most commonly in March, April, or May.
It complements Father's Day, the celebration honouring fathers. Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and celebrating motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society.
MOM
I used to think that we would always be strangers,
Never to share a sympathetic ear,
But so many up's and down's have passed between us,
And now your fear is my fear.
I used to think my friends were everything,
I tried to make them my family out of choice,
But now I know my friends aren't everything,
I could never share with them the real pounding in my heart.
Way has it taken me so long
To realize what matters.
You may not know me like you should
But to me you're part of the only people who matter.
You have thought us to stand together in times of trouble,
To pick one another up when feeling down.
No place in this world would I find a person so sincere,
I love you so very much
And in my heart I hold you dear.
Thank you for choosing me to be your daughter
I could never have asked for a better mother !
