At The Mike Stand With... Cooney Monroe

By Mike Fitzpatrick

So, actress Cooney Monroe, no relation to history's favorite blonde, you know, Marilyn, not Finbarr, the turnip-farmer from Wexford (anyway he was a brunette most of the time), has finally agreed to sit down and join us 'At The Mike Stand'.

Well, not exactly sit down, see Cooney's quite the lively sort, as one will notice by her stunning portrayal of Maeve in Irish writer Colin Broderick's upcoming play 'Spudmunchers' (more details of which, later).

A native of County Westmeath, the gorgeous daughter of John and Anne, has been acting for some time, having studied drama in Ireland, and worked with the acclaimed Dean Crowe Theatre for numerous productions since then.

'Spudmunchers' is her first role in the US, in which she'll star alongside John Duddy and Conor McManus, a play which makes its debut at Rory Dolans on February 21st, for its initial run, before moving to Theatre 80, at Saint Mark's Place in Manhattan for a two week run in mid March.

So, without further ado, and with even less adon't, let's welcome Miss Monroe to 'The Mike Stand'.
