How To Describe This Administration -Incompetent Or Corrupt?

The White House has tried to fob off this mess by laying the blame on the Bush administration which received the first loan request. What the White House spokespersons fail to say is that the loan guarantees were declined by the much smarter and wiser administration than the one we have now.

Is this the dumbest and most gullible administration or the most venal? With details of the current "green" scandals coming to light, it's apparent that the answer may be leaning towards the latter with Obama and company thinking voters are the dumb and gullible ones.

They may be right because people are still shouting "I love you" to the president as he runs around the country trying to sell another bogus stimulus jobs bill. They obviously are not well-read and have probably never heard the name Solyndra or the fact that over half a billion taxpayer dollars went to this now bankrupt green company owned in large part by Obama fundraiser George Kaiser.

One has to wonder if the mainstream media has any investigative reporters still on their payroll who can verify if there was any quid pro quo deals with that first $787 billion stimulus package which did not, I repeat, did not stimulate the economy.

Matthew Daly of the Associated Press reported that "The Obama administration restructured a half-billion dollar federal loan to a troubled solar energy company in such a way that private investors - including a fundraiser for President Barack Obama - moved ahead of taxpayers for repayment in case of a default, government records show." See how much Obama loves the taxpayers.

By now everyone with an ounce of gray matter left in their heads should have figured out that the global warming hysteria was a gigantic hoax with the sole purpose of making Al Gore a billionaire while stagnating the western economy.

Presidential candidate Rick Perry made perfect sense when he said in his first debate, "The idea that we would put Americans' economy at jeopardy based on scientific theory that's not settled yet, to me, is just - is nonsense."

So much of the green, environment movement is nonsense that it is shocking to note how long it is taking for American to wake up to that fact. Even after the news that much of the climate data had been falsified to support the research data of global warming advocates, many in the media still mock skeptics like Perry for doubting them.

Most recently, a Nobel Prize winning physicist, Dr. Ivar Giaever, resigned from the prestigious premier physics organization in disgust over its officially stated policy that the evidence that global warming is occurring is incontrovertible.

Officially, the position of the American Physics Society (APS) supports the theory that man's actions have inexorably led to the warming of the planet, through increased emissions of carbon dioxide. Plants give off carbon dioxide in darkness or when dormant so maybe we have too many trees. As long as we're being ridiculous how about buying that theory?

Yet the Obama administration has put our economy at risk by supporting just about every green initiative that the environmental lobby purports. Solyndra spent nearly a million dollars lobbying the Energy Department and got quite a return for its efforts.

The White House has tried to fob off this mess by laying the blame on the Bush administration which received the first loan request. What the White House spokespersons fail to say is that the loan guarantees were declined by the much smarter and wiser administration than the one we have now.

I really feel sorry for WH press secretary, Jay Carney, who has to mouth such inanities in defense of this inept White house. Carney said that the administration makes no apologies for efforts to boost clean-energy development, saying U.S. economic competitors are moving forward on research and manufacturing. "We cannot cede these industries to our competitors globally" he said.

Yet if we had used common sense and had individuals with business acumen in place to reject this ludicrous investment then it would be China or another global competitor stuck with this bankrupt company.

So how dumb is this administration or was this looting of the treasury exactly the objective? It is no secret that liberals are not good at capitalism because their Marxist ideology loathes the idea of individual achievement preferring the oversight of the State ruling our lives. But do all Americans feel that way and prefer a cradle to grave support by the government? Consider the fact that academics have been training our youth for years that the constitution guarantees the pursuit of happiness as an entitlement and thus you have an entire generation expecting the government to solve any problem in their lives.

Consumer advocate, John Stossel, recently showed a clip on his Fox TV program of Matt Damon angrily defending teachers at a D.C. rally. Damon said, "A teacher wants to teach. I mean, why else would you take a sh**ty salary and really long hours and do that job unless you really love to do it?"

Ahem, a "sh**ty salary?" Stossel pointed out that unionized public school teachers make more than accountants and nurses. It should be noted that Catholic school teachers make comparably lower salaries and perform excellently because they do indeed love to teach.

There are, of course, excellent teachers in public schools but they are increasingly made to do far more than teaching because of the bureaucracy of school boards.

Social engineering and political indoctrination have made many deserving academics leave the system.

The Obama administration has insisted that the Solyndra investment came at the behest of senior officials in the Energy Department. That Department has been a failure since it was established in the Carter administration.

I hope the new president eliminates it along with the Department of Education, Commerce, Health and Urban Development and every other duplicate agency whose services should be taken over by the states to better serve their own communities.

So how did we get into this economic mess and how do we get out of it? How about those who voted for these Marxists in office finally admit they made a mistake.

It's liberating to admit one's errors in judgment. I made an awful one in 2001 when I voted for Michael Bloomberg as my mayor. I had no idea he was a megalomaniac but I have no problem admitting that I was conned into believing he was what the city needed after 9/11.

Instead we got an ex-smoker, car-hating, neighborhood destroying, nanny despot whom we're stuck with for a few more years.

Amazingly this billionaire's wealth went from 4 to 12 billion while taking only a $1 dollar a year salary as mayor. Being in government sure pays off, doesn't it.

In 2008, Americans were conned into making a mistake but one that mistake will hopefully be rectified on Election Day in 2012. If it's not then we're surely the dumb and gullible ones.
