Out & About

A backstage group photo of the cast of Camelot presented by The Irish Rep
What a cruise - the very last Kruise for Kids - it was last Wednesday on the Hudson and East Rivers around Manhattan and it was a hot night too!
It was great to see the Captain back on board - Tom Slattery - and he made sure that everything was ship shape, good on yea Tom.
The boat was packed to capacity and everyone a had a really good time as there was lots of music, food and cold drinks as well... now how about that?
There was also some great entertainment from The Cunningham Brothers, Celtic Cross, Shay Mac Band, Tom Casey and friends and a very special appearance by Maire McVicker, who looked fabulous as usual.
It is sad to say that this is the last one because it is one of the best get togethers each year with everyone getting to meet each others old friends (and new) and have some fun.
I can't name everyone on board but here are some of them: John Sharkey and his wife Helen, Noelle Clancy, Deirdre O'Hea, Debbie Fox, Liam White and his lovely wife, Bruce and his lovely Cathy, all the Kelly family especially Dermot who worked so hard to make this cruise so good.
Nice job again Dermot, and to all the volunteers as it could not happen without you; thanks again for this special night in aid of Project Children which is headed up by Denis Mulcahy.
A special thanks to Denis and all his family who also work so hard to make it such a success... thanks for everything!
Now, you all might think of doing it again next year... and why not?
I almost forgot that we all headed back after the cruise for the post party at the Pig'N'Whistle on 36th Street (just off Seventh Avenue) in buses which picked us up at the Pier when we got off the ship.
So the party continued again thanks to Pat Burke, one of the owners, with entertainment provided by the Itinerants.
Of course, who was with us? Yes the man from Albany: Jeff Cleary, how does he do it?
Last Monday night The Irish Rep had its annual fundraiser at the Shubert Theatre on West 44th Street where they presented 'Camelot' starring a spectacular cast that included Jeremy Irons, Melissa Errico, James Barbour, Brian Murray ('The Importance of Being Earnest'), Victoria Mallory, Josh Grisetti, Ciaran Sheehan, Jacob Clemente ('Billy Elliot'), KT Sullivan, Christopher Lynn, James A. Stephens, Dewey Caddell and Rory Duffy, with narration by Ciaran O'Reilly and produced by Charlotte Moore.
Again, somebody has to do it and guess what, I loved it!
See you all next week...
