Tipp Sets Up A Date With Clare

Tipperary's Eoin Kelly scores a goal (INPHO)

A Roundup Of The GAA Championship Action From Jackie Cahill

Munster SHC Quarterfinal
Tipperary 3-22 Cork 0-23

All-Ireland champions Tipperary came through a gripping Munster SHC quarter-final against old rivals Cork at Semple Stadium last Sunday afternoon to set up a semi-final with Clare on June 19.
The Premier County atoned for last year's ten-point championship defeat against the Rebels by scoring an eight-point victory in a seesaw Thurles battle.
A remarkable second half saw Cork come from eight points down to draw level, before the hosts pulled away to win by eight points.
With 14 minutes of normal time remaining, Pat Horgan's free brought Cork level at 0-21 to 2-15 in a high-scoring feast but Tipp responded with true character to book their place in the last four of the provincial championship.
Ultimately it was substitute Benny Dunne's goal four minutes from the end of normal time that settled an absorbing tie, played out in front of 31,231 spectators.
At half-time, Tipperary led by 2-11 to 0-10 as 2010 Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett and team captain Eoin Kelly struck for goals approaching the break.
And it was a devastating seven-minute scoring burst that transformed a one-point deficit, 0-6 to 0-7, into an eight-point lead for the hosts.
Tipp burst into life with an unanswered 2-3 between the 27th and 34th minutes - with Kelly and Corbett striking for opportunist goals.
Seamus Callanan claimed the man of the match award after scoring five points from play on his first competitive start of the year for Tipperary.

Leinster SHC Quarterfinal
Wexford 3-16 Antrim 1-11

Wexford turn up the heat against Antrim in the second half to book their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster SHC.
Colm Bonnar's team will now face holders Kilkenny at Wexford Park for a place in the provincial final.
The Antrim tie was a dangerous game for Wexford as the Saffrons had already won a match, against Laois, in this year's championship.
Antrim gave as good as they got in the opening half at Wexford Park but the hosts upped the ante considerably after half-time and cruised to an eleven-point win.
Antrim managed just three points in the second half as Jim Berry added his second goal of the game for Wexford with David Redmond also netting three minutes from time.

Leinster SHC Quarterfinal
Dublin 2-21 Offaly 1-20

National League champions Dublin booked their place in the semi-finals of the Leinster SHC by scoring a four-point success against Offaly at Croke Park last Sunday.
Dublin appeared edgy for spells during this game but the end result was all that mattered against a dogged Offaly.
Anthony Daly's team will now face Galway or Westmeath, who meet next Saturday, in the last four of the provincial series.
Offaly lost Brian Carroll to injury and were also reeling during the second half when Derek Molloy was sent off, rather harshly, for a second bookable offence.
Shane Dooley, son of Offaly manager Joe, can consider himself unfortunate to finish on the losing side after hitting a remarkable personal tally of 1-13.
But Dublin, who led by 1-9 to 1-8 at half-time, had the better spread of scorers as no fewer than ten players got on the scoresheet.

Connacht SFC Quarterfinal
London 2-10 Mayo 0-20

London came desperately close to pulling off one of the championship shocks of all time in last Sunday's Connacht SFC quarter-final against Mayo.
Mayo needed late points from Kevin McLoughlin and Trevor Mortimer to force extra-time against the Exiles in Ruislip.
Mayo got out of jail in the extra twenty minutes but the nature of this display will deeply concern manager James Horan.
And it's hardly ideal preparation ahead of a semi-final meeting with old rivals Galway in Castlebar on June 26.
Four points in extra-time helped to see Mayo over the line but London continued to push as substitute Cathal O'Sullivan kept the hosts in contention with a late goal.
On the plus side for Horan and Mayo, six players were given their championship debuts in front of 4,000 fans.
But a vast improvement is required from Mayo if they are to make an impact on the remainder of the Connacht championship.

Ulster SFC Quarterfinal
Armagh 1-15 Down 1-10

Armagh pulled off a notable victory in the Ulster SFC last Saturday night when they saw off the challenge of last year's beaten All-Ireland finalists Down by five points.
Ulster Council chiefs scheduled this game in direct opposition with the Champions League final but over 13,000 punters still descended on the Athletic Grounds for a rip-roaring encounter.
Down led by a point, 1-9 to 1-8, ten minutes into the second half but the hosts, managed by former Down All-Ireland winning captain Paddy O'Rourke, hit seven of the last eight scores to seal a convincing win.
On a night when former Mayo player Billy Joe Padden, son of Willie Joe, made his championship debut for Armagh, there were many Orchard County heroes.
Goalscorer Jamie Clarke was excellent along with the likes of Aaron Kernan, Ciaran McKeever, Charlie Vernon and Malachy Mackin.

Leinster SFC
Offaly 0-8 Wexford 2-16

Ciaran Lyng bagged 1-6 as Wexford cruised into the Leinster SFC quarter-finals with a 14-point mauling of hosts Offaly last Saturday evening.
The Slaneysiders set up a June 12 showdown against Westmeath at Wexford Park with a clinical display against the hapless hosts at O'Connor Park, Tullamore.
In the first championship meeting between the sides since the 2009 All-Ireland qualifier, Wexford scored a first Leinster SFC victory against Offaly since 1994.
This was Offaly's heaviest defeat in the Leinster SFC since 1947 and Wexford's victory was achieved on the back of sparkling attacking displays from Lyng and Ben Brosnan, who nailed 0-7 on his championship debut for the Model County.
