Aer Lingus Dispute Resolved

Aer Lingus' full flight schedule has returned to normal after a three-week long dispute over rosters was resolved. The breakthrough came early on Friday morning following all-night negotiations at the Labour Relations Commission.

Thousands of passengers had their travel plans disrupted because of the dispute between members of the trade union IMPACT and Aer Lingus management.

The company took more than 300 cabin crew off the payroll after they refused to work controversial new rosters.

It hired-in aircraft from other airlines in an effort to minimize disruption.

The agreement reached involved a number of concessions to cabin crew on meal breaks, rest periods and time off.

But cabin crew will work the 850 flying hours set out in the company's overall cost-cutting plan.

Both sides have agreed to 'industrial peace' for the duration of the plan's implementation.
