Congratulations to all the New York Marathon runners, especially all the Irish runners who I know put a lot of hard work in all year.
You know who you are and it would take up the whole column if I had to name all the names; great work though as I know it will benefit a lot of charities here and in Ireland.
The Adrian Flannelly Show - the voice of Ireland and Irish America - which is now in its 40th year promoting everything Irish from music, news, views, interviews and sports; how does her do it?
Well that's an easy question: experience, as he has been doing it so long he is a the consumate professional and he always gets the cream of the crop and never misses an opportunity to interview guests of importance.
For instance last weekend Adrian's guests last Saturday included Dr. Miriam Nyhan and Professor Marion Casey at Glucksman Ireland House NYU who discussed the role of county societies in Irish New York, focusing in particular on the twentieth century in advance of "The Fifth Province: County Societies in Irish America" Exhibition at New York's Consulate General of Ireland which runs from November 16th to January 25th, 2011.
He also chatted to Robert O'Byrne, one of Ireland's best-known writers on architecture, fine art and design and a former journalist with The Irish Times.
His latest work: 'The Dictionary of Living Irish Artists' profiles 200 Irish Artists and 400 full-color images with an introduction by Curator Turlough McConnell.
Next week John Murphy of the Irish Network organization here in New York, who's also a great supporter of The Irish Examiner newspaper will join UBS as Director and Counsel in the Investment Bank's Litigation and Investigations Group.
While his cell phone remains the same, his e-mail contact is now johnomurphy75@gmail.com.
Congratulations from all the staff at The Irish Examiner newspaper.

Coming this Saturday, November 13th from 10am to 5pm, to Glucksman Ireland House NYU is a day-long program that examines how the narratives of Irish-American experience are being imagined and re-imagined in works of fiction and memoir.
Why do some writers chose the novel form and some choose the memoir to tell a family history or an immigrant story?
What is the relationship between the two genres? What stories are being told in these works and how do they impact our understanding of the immigrant experience?
Has Irish America come to a moment in time when telling these stories is critical and why is that so?
Given our reliance on the printed word for historical research what impressions will future writers form from this work?
How do these narratives relate to Ireland and to Irishness?
These and many more questions will be discussed and debated by a group of distinguished writers including: Charles Fanning (Mapping Norwood), Thomas Fleming (Mysteries of My Father), Carole O'Malley Gaunt (Hungry Hill), Kathleen Hill (Who Occupies This House), Kathleen Lawrence (Becoming Irish) Michael Patrick McDonald (All Souls, Easter Rising) Peter Quinn (Looking for Jimmy) and Gemma Whelan (Fiona, Stolen Child) with introductions by Eileen Reilly.
Tickets to the full day of talks are $20 for general admission. Members of Glucksman Ireland House receive a $5 discount.
Please contact Glucksman Ireland House for the discount code via ireland.house@nyu.edu or by calling (212) 998-3950.
