I just heard that Donie Carroll is back in town after a very successful trip to Cork to promote his new CD and he had the red carpet laid out for him at the City Hall by the Lord Mayor. Now what am I going to do..? Only say "congratulations Donie".
The boys from Albany (Jeff Cleary and Chris Callaghan) were in Manhattan on Friday and the rumors are that they were at O'Casey's Irish Pub for lunch and then at the Sheridan Hotel on 7th Avenue. Now wasn't that where the Conservative Party Convention was? Now, what was all that about...
As I am talking about O'Casey's Irish Pub (on 41st Street between Madison and 5th Avenue), they have a very sweet waitress from Donegal. Her name is Marisa Lynch, so call in and say hello her and have a bit of lunch or dinner; she is pretty good mind you.

The Emerald Guild held another great event at Connolly's on West 45th Street for their Annual Vendor Appreciation Evening with Michael Gubbins and Seamus Burke again doing a fine job.
I stayed for awhile and got to meet Larry Sullivan, Pat Brady, Garrett Doyle, Patricia Brady and her son Killian who is a fine looking man... look out girls.
The County Cork Association of New York invites you all to join with them as they celebrate their 125th Anniversary at a banquet to be held at the Rochestown Park Hotel in Douglas, on Saturday, August 7.

I called in to O'Brien's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Times Square (on 45th Street (212) 391-1516) last Thursday to meet Cormack McCormick the manager, who was very busy as usual and he was entertaining a lot of the sailors from Fleet Week.
Tom Kinirons, Long Island coordinator for Project Children is looking for a few internships in the construction industry.
College age students will be here for six weeks after they partake in Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans. Internees receive stipend from Project Children so they do not have to be paid.
The aim is to give them work commensurate with their college training. If you know anyone who can help, please contact Tom.

I hear the Origin Theatre had a very successful benefit showcase that was hosted by Mutual of America last week that was well supported. Again, well done to George Heslin for all his hard work.
The Irish Repertory Theatre is hosting a rare concert performance on Broadway as its Annual Benefit Gala. For one night only, see Brigadoon by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. The event is on Monday, June 14 starting at 7pm. Brigadoon will star: Len Cariou, Jason Danieley, Christine Ebersole, Melissa Errico, Ciaran Sheehan, Don Stephenson and other Broadway stars, a full orchestra and chorus of 50!

Are you all getting ready for the biggest show on Earth? Yes, the FIFA World Cup 2010 begins on Friday June 11th in South Africa and runs until the Final on July 11th.
The first game to kick off will be the hosts South Africa who play Mexico in Johannesburg at 10am (New York time) and you know what happens on Saturday? The United States play England in Rastenburg at 2:30pm.
