Early on Saturday afternoon Chelsea became the first team to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with a 4-1 victory over Championship side Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
Holders Chelsea reached the last eight after Cardiff had briefly threatened to cause a massive shock.
Didier Drogba put Chelsea in front in the second minute but Michael Chopra stunned the home side with an equalizer before the interval.
But second-half goals from Michael Ballack, Daniel Sturridge and substitute Salomon Kalou put Carlo Ancelotti's through to the next round.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth overcame a resilient Southampton side to eventually beat their neighbours 4-1.
