Honoring Therese Crowe

The Irish Examiner newspaper is privileged to honor Therese Crowe as the first-ever Honoree that the paper has ever chosen in our short history.

To honor Therese Crowe is very special to us as she has given her time over the last 30 year as the RM (nurse) for the New York G.A.A. in Gaelic Park in the Bronx.

She is also a very charitable person with her time and her energy, and she is always there to help anyone who is in need.

Whether it be home help, sickness in their families or old people who need medical care she is always on call to help.

As you know Therese claims she is from Tipperary, but she was born in County Kerry. Now keep that quiet, because she will not like to hear that...

The reason she was born in Killarney, County Kerry was because her father James was transferred there for a short period of two years with C.I.E. and then returned again back to his native Tipperary.

All joking aside she's a Tipp woman true and true and it shows as only a woman like Therese would work so hard like she does for the Irish community.

She is everyone's  friend and if there is an event going on she is the first one to be invited.

County dinners, special events, charity dinner  dances, you name it, she is invited, and if she is not somebody is going to hear about it.

Therese has received many awards from the Irish American community; to name a few, New York GAA Banquet, Tipperary Association, Grand Marshal of the Queens County Parade and the prestigious President's Award that was presented by the GAA President for her voluntary contribution to the GAA here in New York.

Therese Crowe is the Woman of the Year for the first annual event for The Irish Examiner newspaper and for all her friends who are coming to honor her this Thursday night at Nevada Smiths, don't forget that it begins at 5.30pm.

Yes we are very proud of you Therese and proud to honor you as our Woman of the Year. We hope you get many more as you deserve them, keep up what you're doing as you know that you'll always be our friend.
