Dermot Mannion To Step Down At Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus Group plc announced on Monday that Dermot Mannion, the Group's Chief Executive Officer, has informed the Board of his intention to step down with immediate effect.

The Board of Aer Lingus has accepted his decision to step down. Mr Colm Barrington, Chairman of the Board, will assume executive responsibility for the Group until a new CEO has been appointed.

The Board has commenced a process to select a new Group Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Barrington commented, "On behalf of the Board and management team, I would like to thank Dermot for his significant contribution to the Group over the past four years. We would like to record our appreciation for his loyalty and dedication to Aer Lingus."

Mr Mannion commented, "It has been a privilege to serve as Aer Lingus CEO for the past four years and to have led the company through a period of profound change.

"I would like to thank the Board, management and all employees for their commitment during my time with the Group. My decision to step down will allow a new CEO to bring fresh thinking and new ideas to the business."

Mr Barrington concluded by saying that, "Against the backdrop of challenging market conditions, the Board and management team are focused on maximising revenues, reducing operating costs while maintaining a strong balance sheet to deliver value for all shareholders."
