Elsewhere, Galway's first venture into Leinster fare ended in a 1-17 to 2-10 win over Offaly.

The Tribesmen booked their place in the semi-finals after attacking the Faithful County from the off in Tullamore, Aongus Callanan getting the show on the road with a goal after eight minutes.

Galway manager John McIntyre has twice managed Offaly in the past but there was no sentimentality as he won his first competitive game at the helm in the historic clash at O'Connor Park, having seen his side lead 1-10 to 1-3 at half-time.

Joe Bergin and Shane Dooley hit the Offaly goals but Galway just had too much for their hosts on the day.

The O'Moore men had led at half-time as John Rowney and Brian Campion hit three points each to see Antrim 0-9 to 0-7 in arrears as they headed for the dressing room.

However, a goal from Brendan Herron turned the tide and the placed ball prowess of Paul Shields, who hit 0-7, saw the defending champions through.

Wexford were also victorious as they beat UCD 0-20 to 1-15 in Ferris.

The Model men were 0-12 to 0-4 ahead at the break, but UCD hit back and hit a goal courtesy of Kilkenny man David Lyng.

His namesake Diarmuid was Wexford's top man with 0-5 and his side had the nous to see out the win late on.

Those sides made the semi-finals, with Carlow easing past Roscommon by 1-15 to 0-8.
