Gunners Rebound Against The Toffees
Stoke Shocks Woeful Spurs
Middlesbrough 0 Chelsea 5
In the early kick-off on Saturday at the Riverside, Chelsea thrashed 'Boro 5-0. The visitors went in at the break 1-0 up after a 14th-minute goal from Salomon Kalou. Juliano Belletti doubled Chelsea's lead six minutes after the break when he hammered a swerving 35-yard strike. Kalou made the points safe with his second and Frank bagged Chelsea's fourth with a close-range header. Florent Malouda then scored to complete the rout with 66 minutes on the clock.
Arsenal 3 Everton 1
At the Emirates, Arsenal came from behind to take all three points from Everton. Second-half sub Theo Walcott ensured the win in the late on after a one-two with Abou Diaby to make it 3-1. Everton took the lead after a goal from Leon Osman after 10 minutes but Arsenal hit back through Samir Nasri and Robin Van Persie before Walcott sealed the win.
Liverpool 3 Wigan Athletic 2
At Anfield, Dirk Kuyt saved Liverpool when they twice trailed. The Dutch striker's volley with five minutes left beat Chris Kirkland to give the Reds all three points. Amr Zaki scored on the stroke of half-time to give Wigan the lead for the second tome having given the visitors the lead on 28 minutes. Eight minutes before half-time Dirk Kuyt turned the ball home following a cross from Daniel Agger. Albert Riera leveled the scores with 10 minutes left before Kuyt secured the win.
Bolton Wanderers 0 Blackburn Rovers 0
At the Reebok, Robbie Fowler made his first start for the visitors after Roque Santa Cruz was ruled out through injury, but could not find the net. Bolton's best chance came from Jlloyd Samuel on the hour but his shot looped over Paul Robinson after an intervention from Chris Samba.
Aston Villa 0 Portsmouth 0
At Villa Park, Aston Villa played out a goalless draw with Portsmouth. John Carew came the closest to scoring for the hosts but his late strike struck the bar and sailed over and Brad Friedel had pulled off an impressive save to deny Sean Davis after only three minutes.
Fulham 0 Sunderland 0
At Craven Cottage, Roy Keane will feel he was robbed after a 0-0 draw against Fulham. Kieran Richardson's first-half free-kick ricocheted off both posts and he had a second-half free-kick ruled out for a foul in the wall. Djibril Cisse also rattled the woodwork with a late strike, but Fulham held on.
Manchester United 4 West Brom 0
In Saturday's late game, Utd scored four second-half goals over West Brom. The Baggies were coping in the opening 45 minutes but Wayne Rooney put United ahead shortly after the break. Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead before Dimitar Berbatov netted his first Premier League goal to make it 3-0. Nani put the gloss on the victory with a late fourth.
Stoke City 2 Tottenham Hotspur 1
In a cracking game on Sunday, Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson were sent off for Tottenham and Stoke claimed a memorable victory that keeps sad, sorry, spent the shillings, Spurs bottom of the Premier League. Bale got a red for a foul on Tom Soares and Danny Higginbotham scored the penalty before Darren Bent netted. Rory Delap tapped in to make it 2-1 before Ricardo Fuller hit both posts with a penalty and then Delap hit the bar with the follow up. Dawson was then sent off for a tackle on Mamady Sidibe and Fuller hit the post in 11 minutes of injury-time, which came after Vedran Corluka was hurt when he was caught by the knee of his own keeper, Heurelho Gomes, on his chin and required a lot of 'medical attention'.
Hull City 1 West Ham United 0
Also on Sunday, Hull went third in the League after Michael Turner's goal made it three wins on the trot for the new boys. Turner put Hull in front when he headed in from an Andy Dawson corner just after the half. Phil Brown's Hull now have 17 points from 8 games - the second best total for a promoted club since the start of the Premier League.
Newcastle United 2 Manchester City 2
Monday's game saw ten-man Newcastle draw against Man City. Referee Rob Style's gave a penalty and sent off Habib Beye in the 13th minute when Beye appeared to clear from Robinho. The Brazilian converted the resulting penalty but City let Shola Ameobi equalize before half time. The Magpies led through Richard Dunne's own goal after 62 minutes but Stephen Ireland stroked in an equalizer with five minutes remaining.
