"DJ" Carey To Be Honored By The ALS Association

The ALS Association Greater New York Chapter will honor Major League Baseball legends Chris Chambliss and Sandy Koufax and professional tennis legend John McEnroe at their 14th Annual Lou Gehrig Sports Awards Benefit on Monday, October 27th at 6:30PM at New York Marriott Marquis (Broadway at 45th Street.) Cocktails begin at 6:30PM, followed by a silent auction, dinner, and awards presentation.
ESPN's Jeremy Schaap will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Renowned sports announcer Bob Costas will present the sports honorees with awards. Josh Javits, son of Senator Jacob Javits, will present The Jacob K. Javits Lifetime Achievement Award to Denis J. "DJ" Carey III.
Benefit chairman include Alan R. Griffith, retired Vice Chairman-Bank of New York, David Lubars, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer- BBDO North America, Lawrence A. Rand, Co-Founder and Senior Vice President-Kekst & Company, Inc., and Arthur F. Weinbach, Chairman-Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc.
Expected guests include Chris and Audry Chambliss, John and Patty McEnroe, Sandy and Jane Koufax, Jill and Bob Costas, Jeremy Schaap, Lisa and Philip Falcone, Marion Javits, Josh Javits, Leonard and Claire Tow, and Gerald Hassell.
The ALS Association is the only national not-for-profit health organization dedicated solely to lead the fight against ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. The Association covers research, patient and community services, public education, and advocacy - in providing help and hope to those facing the disease.
