A Clear & Present Danger

For those who think that preemptive action against the Mullahs in Iran is unnecessary, we would recommend the reading of Roger L. Simon's interview with an Iranian former-CIA agent on PajamasMedia.com.

The interview with the operative begins, "The men who ordered the destruction of the Pan Am flight over Lockerbie and the bombings of the Marine Corps barracks in Lebanon, the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, and the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia are pursuing the nuclear program in Iran and with one goal in mind: to obtain The Bomb.

"And they want to destroy you."

The undercover agent was originally an officer in Iran's Revolutionary Guards who reports that Iran's nuclear weapon program begin in the mid-80s when the Mullahs discovered that Saddam Hussein had started his own weapons program.

In the enthralling interview he spins a web of intrigue by the Iranian Regime aimed at furthering their nuclear ambitions while keeping the U.S. and European governments off-balance with a combination of carrot-and-stick-like maneuvers, on the one hand keeping the U.S. and Coalition militaries "on the defensive in Iraq so Washington would not think of invading Iran" and on the other playing at negotiations with the Europeans to give the impression that they could be persuaded to halt their nuclear program, stringing them out so that by the time the Western nations realise that they've been duped all along it will be too late.

"Our Revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam," said Ahmadinejad in 2005.

If we allow Iran to complete their weapons program and produce a nuclear weapon, we will find out quite how destructive this aim is.
