Trips To Ireland From Britain Up 26%

In March 2008, the number of trips taken to Ireland by residents of Great Britain increased by 26.4% to 365,700 compared to the same month in 2007.

This brings the total number of trips for this category to 849,500 for the first quarter of 2008, an increase of 10% from the same quarter in 2007.

This contrasts with the experience of other areas of residence compared to the same month in 2007 - Other Europe down 6% to 185,000, North America down 8.6% to 64,900 and Other Areas down 6% to 18,300.
