CUNA Mutual To Locate New European Headquarters In Dublin
"Their decision to invest in excess of $14 million to base their new European headquarters here shows the confidence they have in our economy based on our tremendous economic development of recent years."
The opening of CUNA Mutual's new headquarters and their expansion into the European market is a very exciting development, both for CUNA and the Irish economy said Minister for Innovation Policy Mr. Michael Ahern, T.D, when he officially opened the New Headquarters in Harcourt Street, Dublin last week.
CUNA Mutual Group has been an international insurer to the mutual sector and co-operative sector for the last 70 years.
The company was pivotal in the establishment of the Credit Union Movement throughout Europe and continues to insure and lend with a strong ethical bias.
CUNA Mutual Europe will manage strategic development for all the company's European operations and will build specific expertise in Product Development, R&D, Actuarial, Programme Management, New Market Entry, Incubation and Business Development
Speaking at the opening Minister Ahern said: "We are delighted that CUNA Mutual chose Ireland over other potential European locations to be the hub of its European operations. Their decision to invest in excess of $14 million to base their new European headquarters here shows the confidence they have in our economy based on our tremendous economic development of recent years. It also acknowledges the importance of Ireland as a prime location for investment and expansion and the very positive aspects which we continue to offer in this country - such as a well educated and flexible workforce, sound economic policies and an ideal location between the USA and mainland Europe."
"This new expansion is set to create 25 new highly skilled job and this is projected to grow as the company expands its operations primarily in the design and launch of innovative Life and credit insurance products both here and across Europe", the Minister added.
