Chelsea Take All Three Points At Old Trafford

United And The Blues Tied For First Place

Chelsea 2 Manchester United 1


Early on Saturday at Stamford Bridge, Michael Ballack kept his cool to keep the EPL title race alive with a late penalty winner against United. Ballack struck from the spot six minutes from time - his second goal of the afternoon - to secure a 2-1 win after a handball by Michael Carrick. The win puts Chelsea level on points with the champions at the top but United, who had equalized through Wayne Rooney, retain a significant advantage on goal difference with just two games remaining.

Manchester City 2 Fulham 3


At Craven Cottage, Fulham kept their hopes of beating relegation alive by coming from 2-0 down to beat City 3-2 in the last minute. After a Stephen Ireland strike from the edge of the box and a second City goal from Benjani, Roy Hodgson's men hit back late on with Diomansy Kamara scoring 20 minutes from time and Danny Murphy firing in a penalty rebound after his spot-kick was saved. Kamara bagged the winner in dramatic fashion just seconds from time after more good work from Murphy.

Birmingham City 2 Liverpool 2


Birmingham blew a 2-0 lead to draw against Liverpool, who have all but secured fourth spot in the EPL. Mikael Forssell fired past Jose Reina from a James McFadden cross and Sebastian Larsson added a superb free-kick to give Blues a 2 - 0 lead. But Jermaine Pennant, playing against his old club, skipped beat three players to allow Andriy Voronin to set up Peter Crouch and Yossi Benayoun headed an equalizer.

Sunderland 2 Middlesbrough 2


At the Stadium of Light, Sunderland secured their EPL status with a 3-2 victory over Boro - who are not yet safe. Tuncay Sanli put Boro ahead after just four minutes but Sunderland were level moments later with a header from Danny Higginbotham. Michael Chopra put the hosts ahead with a solo effort on the stroke of half-time but Afonso Alves equalized for Boro. The game was settled in the final minute when Emanuel Pogatetz put through his own goal.

Tottenham Hotspur 1 Bolton Wanderers 1


At White Hart Lane, Bolton went ahead in the first minute of the second half when Stelios Giannakopoulos bundled home from close range from a Gretar Steinsson cross. But Steed Malbranque ran in to level six minutes later after Robbie Keane turned on the edge of the box to play in the Frenchman.

Wigan Athletic 0 Reading 0


At the JJB Stadium, Wigan edged closer to EPL safety but Reading are still looking nervously over their shoulders after this draw.

West Ham United 2 Newcastle United 2


At Upton Park, Newcastle came back from 2-0 down to claim a point. Mark Noble opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Dean Ashton added a second with 23 gone. But Obafemi Martins pulled one back with a neat finish three minutes before the break and Geremi followed up with another.

Portsmouth 0 Blackburn Rovers 1


Early on Sunday at Fratton Park, Roque Santa Cruz ended Portsmouth's chase for fifth spot with his sixth goal in seven matches as Blackburn claimed a late 1-0 victory.

Everton 2 Aston Villa 2


Villa grabbed the initiative in the race for UEFA Cup qualification when John Carew headed his 13th goal of the season for a 2-2 draw. Everton were ahead after 56 minutes through Phil Neville's deflected effort, with Gabriel Agbonlahor equalizing with 10 minutes left. Joseph Yobo had Everton ahead again before Carew's last-ditch leveler.

Derby County 2 Arsenal 6


On Monday, Arsenal guaranteed a third-placed finish at worse with a win over Derby County. Bendtner started the scoring for Arsenal in the 25th minute but Derby's McEveley struck back six minutes later, Van Persie putting the Gunners ahead before half-time. Adebayor came on at half-time and scored a hat-trick.
