Hibernian Leader Protests Abortion

"Our nation defeats Communism, gives new definition to prosperity and reaches to the ends of the earth to feed children and protect animal species but finds it necessary to grant a license to kill in the name of freedom."

AOH President Jack Meehan applauded his members and all who marched and prayed in Washington on the 35th anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion.

"The Guttmacher Institute depicts the 'positive trend' of earlier abortions and greater use of kill-pill RU486," stated Meehan, "but the killing of one in every fifth new life is a monstrous tragedy."

"Our nation," he continued, "defeats Communism, gives new definition to prosperity and reaches to the ends of the earth to feed children and protect animal species but finds it necessary to grant a license to kill in the name of freedom."

Meehan noted that the Pope recently received the new Irish Ambassador by acknowledging its Christian heritage. He warned of the new Irish prosperity claiming "when truth is disregarded... categories of good and evil ... give way to the pragmatic calculation of advantage and disadvantage. This is a day of infamy for Americans who have accepted and even promoted the calculation of a legal victory over the defenseless and powerless voice in the womb," he concluded.
