Great to see that New Year's Eve was a success at all the Irish bars and restaurants all over the tri-state. A lot of late night and early morning fun was had by all with 24-hour extensions and parties until very late with bartenders and waitresses working long shifts. Thank you all for your first class service, take a bow - what could we do without you?
We met up with Justin from Slattery's Midtown Pub and he was telling us they had a fantastic night and a very long day with no let up. You should check out the upstairs restaurant where some great food is being served.
Stout on 33rd street across from Madison Square Gardens must be the biggest bar in town and was packed from floor to floor, with host Nolle ready to greet you.
James O'Malley would like invite you all to Munster USA's social on Tuesday January 15th, 2008 at 6.30pm. This, the first Social Gathering of Munster Supporters in the United States will be held at O'Brien's Irish Bar at 134 West 46th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). All Munster supporters and rugby followers are welcome. We paid a visit to the new Pig 'N' Whistle on Second Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets where we met Kenny McCoy who gave us a tour of the restaurant. What a beautiful place to hang out to meet friends. Please do pop in and say hello to Ed the bartender who is from Tipperary who also serves a very nice pint.
The New York Athletic Club will be buzzing next Monday (January 14th) for the installation of Tommy Smyth as the New York St. Patrick's Day Parade Grand Marshal.
By the time you read this the New York G.A.A. elections for new officers will been held with front runners being Brendan O'Sullivan from Limerick and John Riordan from Dingle, West Kerry. Good luck boys!

Rory Dolan's is having a special night on Friday January 11th at 9pm with Des Bishop appearing live. All proceeds go to the ILIR Campaign. It should be a fun night.
Cavan Gaelic Football & Social Club of New York are having their 39th Annual Dinner Dance on Saturday January 12th at Riccardo's on 24th Avenue Astoria. The Guest of Honor is Mike Reilly and the evening begins at 8pm.
There's a new show opening at the Bam Harvey Theatre: 'Happy Days; by Samuel Beckett.

We met up with Michael O'Brien and Bruce Caufield of Tracks in Penn Station. They were celebrating their 5th Anniversary on Saturday.
Murph Guide supremo Sean Murphy stopped by for the celebration as did our own Bob Crowley, who was there to join in the party. A great night was had by all
Not to be political, but there's a lot of unhappy Democratic supporters in New York after the disappointing showing put in by Hilary Clinton in Iowa.
Bernard Scully, the bartender at Ashton's on 49th Street was very busy over the holidays. He will always welcome you with that big smile but we're not to sure about the buy-backs. You never know though... tell him we sent you in and he might cough up.
We caught up with Gerry O'Donavan and his partner Andrew DeCourcy of Ryan's Irish Pub (on 10th Street at Third Avenue) and also Bull McCabe's (on St. Mark's Place) and The Thirsty Scholar (on Second Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets) checking out a couple of hot spots in the downtown neighborhood and having a few pints.
