Golfer Padraig Harrington Chosen As RTE Sports Star for 2007

Golfer Padraig Harrington has won the RTE Sports Star Award for 2007.

Harrington, the British Open Champion was a clear winner in the scheme which was judged by a panel of journalists, sports presenters, and former players.

The Irish cricket team won the team award for its excellent performance in the World Cup. In that competition Ireland reached the last eight for the very first time.
