UTV Takes Over Dublin's FM 104

UTV Media has purchased Dublin's biggest radio station - FM104 for £37m ($74m). The station is one of three that Irish radio group Communicorp bought from Emap earlier this year but has been forced to sell it on competition grounds.

Irish competition authorities ruled that Communicorp had to sell FM104 because it would give Denis O'Brien's group a dominant position in the Dublin market.

The deal boosts UTV's profile in Ireland as the company already owns radio stations in Cork, Limerick, Drogheda and Belfast, as well as Q102 in Dublin.
