A Message From Our Publisher

I would like to start by thanking all our readers. It has been another great year for the paper and again it's down to you our readers.

The paper now is almost two-years-old and we've listened to all your suggestions and your comments.

We would like you to ask your friends to support the paper and to ask your newsstand to order it if they do not have it as we do know shelf space is very limited in a lot of the stores.

The distributer will be only to happy to send it to them, but please keep asking and believe me, the stores and the shops will stock it for you.

Now that emigration from Ireland is practically at a standstill we have to support each other and if we do we will succeed.

We are wonderful race of people and we have made a big impact in this country in all walks of life; in Banking, Teaching, Theatre, Writing, Film, Radio, Sports and in Government.

We are a proud nation and let no one say less. We have our disagreements with each other but most of the time we see eye-to-eye.

The best restaurants and pubs in the country are run by the Irish and let no man make a mistake on that.

If you did not have the Irish in this country things would be boring and dull. When American troops pass though Shannon Airport, coming and going from Iraqi and Afghanistan, the first thing they do is have a pint of Guinness - now what does that say.

Lots of new things are happening next year including the launch of our very own Irish Connections credit card. We hope this will encourage the support of our heritage and culture and show that we proud of who we are.

Thank you again and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
