Live Register Up In November

The seasonally adjusted Live Register total increased from 164,700 in October to 169,700 in November, an increase of 5,000. This is much larger than the increase of 500 in October.

In the year to November 2007, there was an unadjusted increase of 13,193, up 8.9%. This compares with an unadjusted increase of 8,943, or 6.0% in the year to October 2007.

The monthly increase in the Seasonally Adjusted series consisted of an increase of 4,000 men and an increase of 1,000 women.

The standardised unemployment rate in November was 4.6%. This compares with 4.4%, the latest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate from the Quarterly National Household Survey.
