QVC To Broadcast Live Show From Ireland

"As QVC is one of the leading purchasers of Irish consumer goods anywhere in the world, it was very important that we capitalize on the great work that has been done in the past by bringing a live show to Ireland."

The largest US TV Shopping network, QVC, will broadcast a live show from Ireland to the United States on August 8th.

Broadcasting into 87 million homes in the United States, QVC is second only to CBS in terms of revenue generation.

Following on from many years of success producing and broadcasting 24-hour live shows during St Patrick's Day and the Rose of Tralee from their studios in West Chester, Pennsylvania, this is the first time that QVC will broadcast from Ireland.

With a crew of 20 arriving from the US, QVC will be further supported by an additional 20-person Ireland-based crew.

The Irish Production Company, Screentime Shinawil, who are going into their 5th year as producer of the TV hit show, "You're a Star", will provide local logistical and technical support.

This broadcast will feature 30 to 40 different products on air, over the 4-hour duration, and will showcase some of Irelands most well known consumer goods brands such as Waterford Crystal, Tipperary Crystal, Inis fragrances, Connemara Marble and Belleek, to name but a few of the almost 20 Irish manufacturers who regularly supply product to QVC.

Supported by Enterprise Ireland and Tourism Ireland this broadcast will also showcase Ireland as a tourist destination to the many millions of US viewers who are expected to watch the show.

According to Sean Davis of the Enterprise Ireland New York office, "As QVC is one of the leading purchasers of Irish consumer goods anywhere in the world, it was very important that we capitalize on the great work that has been done in the past by bringing a live show to Ireland.

"Enterprise Ireland has been delighted to work with QVC, Tourism Ireland and our client companies to bring this to fruition."
