Exhibition Of Paintings By Rebecca Carroll To Open In New York On August 10th

Ephermal Shadow by Rebecca Carroll
"Path to Your Door," an exhibition of vibrant new canvases by Rebecca Carroll - will open at Magnan Projects on Tenth Avenue, on Friday, August 10th.
The exhibition, which has been shown in two galleries in Washington and Californi,a will be on view for that day only between 11am and 8pm.
In a recent article in the "Limerick Leader," Arts writer Patricia Feehly, who visited Carroll in her studio, described the artist's work as "evocative, haunting and fascinating."
She called Carroll "the most talented and respected artist working in these parts today."
Carroll's work evokes the spiritual quality of the mountains, sea and strand in which she works.
Her palette reflects the way colors and textures emerge in the constantly changing natural environment of the artist's County Kerry Studio.
As she puts it, "To understand the natural and spiritual path which influences and inspires my work, one needs to mentally travel the path from my studio past 40-foot pine trees, a thicket of black alder trees to three miles of white sands stretching to the Atlantic Ocean.
"The skies I see everyday through the hourly changing weather - range from morning grays to evening reds. Changing seasons bring a multitude of greens in spring. Summers are full of wild honey suckle and gorse and the autumn sea is wrapped in crisp morning fog.
"Flotsam and jetsam supply me with offerings from nature which find their way into my work, often physically imbedded into the paint."
Born in Listowel Ireland, Carroll lives and works in County Kerry.
She received her degree from Limerick College of Art and Design. She has numerous solo and group exhibitions in Ireland.
Her work is represented in many public and private collections in Europe, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Thailand, and the United States.
The artist has been recently commissioned to create a series of pieces for the University of Limerick.
