S SLLEEEEPPYY HHOOLLLLOOWW were one of the hottest bands in the mid 70s.They toured
extensively with Rory Gallagher in Ireland UK & Europe, including the Yes all the stars were out that night with Aedin Maloney direct from ‘YES!’ the
famous tour documented in Irish Tour 74. This band had the task as the hit one woman show at Irish Rep and the great super actress Fiona Flanagan
warm up band on the first night at the Big Top. This all happened in direct from the soldout hit show on Broadway - The Ferryman.
Ballyshannon in Co Donegal. The audience were blown away with this visually
exciting rock band. Front man Joe O’Callaghan, (Blues Harp man/vocals) was
a joy to watch, a true showman, the way Joe moved about the stage he could
give Mick Jagger a run for his money. In this photograph you will see Johnny
Campbell, Joe O’Callaghan, Declan Pender, AJ O’Brien, Bill O’Brien - all
Sleepy Hollow - with Donal Gallagher (Rory’s brother) and Joe O’Herlihy, who
is U2’s sound engineer and also was Rory Gallagher’s.
